Granville - 20min from La Crepelliere
An
attractive seaside town with a good selection of shops and restaurants.
Stroll around the old town (haute ville) and see the old houses that used to
be the homes to ship owners and privateers. Visit the Granville Museum and
learn about the regions traditions and Maritime past. A good view out to sea
from the lighthouse from the Pointe du Roc and a battery from World War 2.
Also in Granville a museum in honour of the designer Christian Dior. A
stunning collection of haute couture.
Granville beach is sandy and suitable for children. There is a salt water pool that is refreshed at high tide. The beach for swimming is in the centre of the town so it is easy to find somewhere for lunch,
drinks and ice creams.
Visit Jersey - Ferry crossings to the Channel Islands and Chausey with
Manche Iles Express takes one hour, departures every day.

Regional Nature Parks
The regional Park of Cotentin and
Bessin Marshes - 45min from La
Crepellie.
An exceptional regional park of
scientific interest. 27,000 hectares of marsh, fen, and reclaimed land
flanked by hedges and fields and dissected by ditches and canals. It is home
to a vast population of wild and migrating birds, domestic animals and
indigenous plant life.
Pont
d’Ouve Centre is in the heart of the Park and will provide all the
information necessary to make a visit interesting. From bird watching
hides it may be possible to observe grebe, egret, lapwing, marsh harrier and
buzzard.
Par Douve et Marais - a guided
tour aboard a 68 passenger boat of the marsh, animals, flowers and old
traditions with stop offs inlocal villages.

rich environment showing diversity in marine life and terrestrial habitat.

Walking
and Rambling
There is an extensive
network of well established trails that cover the countryside, the forest
and the coast. All routes have marked trails that are easy to follow and
cater for all abilities. We have maps with routes marked ranging from
shorter 5km walks to longer 12km walks.
Throughout the summer there are locally organized walks every Monday
evening, setting off from a pre-arranged point, usually a local village hall
or church car park. These walks are very enjoyable and a chance to meet
French people and see some of the countryside that is off the beaten track.
